Newcastle could be without Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson for tomorrow’s trip to Old Trafford, while Fabian Schar is a doubt.

Manchester United host Newcastle in the Premier League for our second last game of the season. With a risk of missing out on European football, Erik ten Hag’s side could do with a positive result.

It comes as a bonus that Newcastle could be without a number of key players on Wednesday night, especially when we’ve been stuck in an injury crisis for most of the season.

The Magpies were without striker duo Isak and Wilson for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Eddie Howe said Wilson, 32, was suffering with a bit of “tightness” and wasn’t 100 per cent match fit. On the other hand, Isak came off in the second half due to not being fully fit after suffering with illness.

Speaking about the pair’s condition this afternoon, Howe said (via The Athletic): “Wilson, we’ll see. We haven’t seen Callum yet. We’ll see if he’s available to train today, if not, I’m sure he’ll be fit for Brentford.

“Illness (for Isak). I don’t think it’s a serious illness. Didn’t train yesterday, we’ll see if he trains today. He wasn’t feeling 100 per cent.”

Newcastle could also be without Schar, having missed their last two matches due to injury.

Howe added: “He’s [Schar] working his way back. Mix of training and being with medical staff, making really good progress from a hamstring problem, we’ll wait and see if he’s available for tomorrow’s game.”
