Newcastle winger Barnes excited working with Tonali

Newcastle United summer arrival Harvey Barnes says he can't wait to build up a camaraderie with Sandro Tonali.

The duo were the big money signings for the Magpies this summer, with winger Barnes joined by central midfielder Tonali and others.

Both linked up briefly during their opening weekend 5-1 win over Aston Villa at home.

Asked about Tonali, per Chronicle Live, Barnes said: "I saw a few little clips from the Rangers game and it looked like he was nice and creative with some of his passing. He will be a joy to play with I think this year.

"If you're making the runs he looks like a player with an eye for a pass and he can get you in. As the season goes on, I think you'll see more of the new players who have come in get more confident and more and more comfortable.

"You'll see the real them. It's a big step coming across from other countries. He's settling in day by day. We'll see just what a good player he is when the season starts."
