MLS side Orlando City are in talks with Atalanta for Luis Muriel, reports Matteo Moretto.

Muriel could leave La Dea in the winter transfer window with MLS side Orlando City interested in securing his services.

Transfer pundit Matteo Moretto claims Orlando City have opened talks with La Dea over a possible ‘last minute deal.’

The winter transfer window for Serie A clubs shuts on February 1 at 19:00 GMT, but MLS clubs have until February 22 to make new purchases, so there’s still plenty of time to reach an agreement with Atalanta.

It remains to be seen if Gian Piero Gasperini will agree to part company with the experienced Colombian striker who is not a regular starter at the Gewis Stadium but still netted six times in 24 appearances across all competitions this season, including a goal-of-the-season contender against Milan in December.

Even if Muriel stays at Atalanta beyond February, he could still move to Orlando City on a free transfer in the summer given that his contract in Bergamo runs out this coming June. Inter are also said to be interested in the 32-year-old striker.
