Leandro Paredes credits new Roma coach Daniele De Rossi with his rediscovered form for Argentina and gives an update on teammate Paulo Dybala.

The midfielder is one of the players who has most flourished since De Rossi took over from Jose Mourinho in mid-January, along with Italy international Lorenzo Pellegrini and goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

Paredes took some of that form to Argentina with him in the friendly match against Costa Rica last night and had no qualms about identifying the man responsible.

“I have a lot more consistency at my club now, I feel better and that follows on for the national team,” he told reporters.

“De Rossi gives me so much, because I think his idea of football is the best for me and I feel better every day.”

Dybala had also begun to score more goals before pulling out of international duty with Argentina due to an injury.

“He had two really good months, felt great physically and played his best football since coming to Roma. Having this injury just before international duty made him very sad, but he is on his way back.”
