Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski is gaining recognition for leading in a crucial statistical category.

Kulusevski shares the top spot with Florian Writz and Mohamed Salah for creating the most open-play chances in Europe’s top seven leagues this season, according to Squawka.

On his social media platform, X, respected Spurs’ insider and correspondent Paul O’Keefe praised the Swedish forward for topping such a crucial statistic and suggested that the player is undervalued for his other key attributes as well.

Tottenham signed Kulusevski from Juventus in January 2022 on an 18-month loan deal for €10 million, with an option to buy.

Last June, the deal was made permanent, securing Kulusevski’s services until June 2028.

The 23-year-old has been a consistent presence under Ange Postecoglou this season, featuring in 21 league games and making valuable contributions with five goals and two assists.

In addition to his creativity, Kulusevski is commended for his solid defensive efforts in every game, as noted by O’Keefe in his tweet.

He posted on X:

“The bar we judge Kulusevski with is extremely high. Considering his defensive output (in addition to the below), I think we are in danger of underappreciating him.”

These stats indicate just how crucial Kulusevski is for the team.

Tottenham undoubtedly possesses a valuable asset in their ranks.
