Pinto explains Roma landing Abraham from Chelsea

Former AS Roma sports chief Tiago Pinto has recalled signing Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.

Pinto admits the personal touch helped to close the striker's signing in Roma's favour.

He told inews: "Sometimes only the shirt number makes the difference. When we signed Abraham he was close to signing for other clubs, we made sure we had a shirt with his name and the number he would wear, the first time we met."

On his work with agents, Pinto added: "I try to be methodical, I'm not the type who calls everyone saying he's interested but works on a lot of agreements together.

"An agent once told me that I'm the only sporting director who says straight away if I'm not interested."
