Postecoglou has suggested Tottenham bosses to sign £70m-rated ace this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

According to TEAMtalk, Ange Postecoglou has suggested the Spurs hierarchy to sign the Englishman and Everton will demand a minimum of £70 million for the player.

The 21-year-old is a prodigious young talent with a big future ahead of him, and he could develop into a top-class Premier League defender with the right coaching and experience. Tottenham need another central defender to complete their defensive unit, and the Everton star should prove to be a superb long-term investment for them.

Even though the asking price seems like a premium, Branthwaite could sort out the defensive unit for the foreseeable future and he could end up justifying the investment in the coming years.

It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy is willing to loosen his purse strings and sign the player this summer. A move to Spurs would be an interesting opportunity for the young defender. He has already established himself as a key player for Everton in the top flight, and he will want to hold down a regular starting spot at Tottenham as well.

Jarrad Branthwaite will seek regular game time

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are currently the first choice defenders at Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if the north London club are willing to switch to a back three in order to accommodate Branthwaite.

The 21-year-old will not want to sit on the bench at a big club and he will probably seek gametime assurance before making a move to Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if they can provide him with the necessary assurances.

Clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keen on the talented young defender as well, and it remains to be seen with Tottenham can win the race for his signature.
