On Tuesday, a report surfaced that Paris Saint-Germain was ready to make a double swoop of two FC Barcelona players, Jules Koundé and Héctor Fort. However, one of those players might not actually be on PSG’s radar.

The capital club have taken Neymar Jr., Xavi Simons, and Ousmane Dembélé from the Spanish side, so it’s no surprise that they might be keen on taking advantage of Barcelona’s financial situation.

Nonetheless, while PSG needs to bolster its center-back role and wants top French talent, Koundé might not be the player the Ligue 1 giants want.

According to SPORT’s Tomas Andreu Simon, PSG is not interested in Koundé but in Frenkie de Jong. The Parisians are eyeing a significant boost to their midfield this summer, a move that could potentially reshape their playing style.

With Kylian Mbappé’s reported exit, they’ll have extra funds to make this ambitious move. It will be interesting to see if the Ligue 1 side moves with any of these interests or pursues other options to strengthen its defense and midfield positions.
