Last Friday, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé announced that he’d be leaving the club after this season, with his contract expiring next month. The 25-year-old will be heading to Real Madrid, but there are questions surrounding his arrival.

Mbappé was the lead player this season for PSG, and the squad needed him to show up in the UEFA Champions League semifinal tie against Borussia Dortmund. However, the 25-year-old didn’t factor in the 2-0 elimination when facing the German side.

Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti noted his concerns regarding Mbappé that he wants to see answered once the player officially moves to the Spanish side in a couple of weeks.

“I don’t see in him that leadership quality,” Guti said on El Chiringuito (h/t Foot Mercato). “He lacks the ambition that other stars I’ve played with have had. The Dortmund match made me realize he doesn’t have that character.

“Many great players don’t have it. For me, Mbappé’s performance in the semifinal, even in the first leg of the quarterfinals, was disappointing. It was his moment to prove himself.”

After the UEFA Champions League final wraps up, it’s expected that the Frenchman will be unveiled as the club’s latest addition. Meanwhile, PSG will be on the hunt for a replacement for their soon-to-be star player as they begin a new era next season.
