Gyan has simply been phenomenal for Ghana

Ghana’s sensational striker Asamoah Gyan wants to remain modest despite breaking Abedi Pele’s all-time scoring record for the Black Stars.
The 27-year-old super star has set a new country record after grabbing a brace in Ghana’s 3-1win over Sudan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier last Friday, overtaking legend Abedi Pele’s 33-goal haul.
The Al Ain attacker has earned huge praises from many including Black Stars trainer Kwesi Appiah who said it will be difficult for anyone to catch up with the player’s accomplishment.
But the former Sunderland striker does not want to get ahead of himself and focused on leading the country to the World Cup.
“I am very delighted but it has been a collective team effort. I am not swollen headed because I have scored 34 goals for the country,” Gyan told GHANAsoccernet.com
