Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang does not look to have any sort of future at Chelsea beyond this season and Barcelona are interested in bringing the Gabonese striker back to Spain.

Aubameyang left Barcelona last summer for Chelsea and has barely played since the World Cup return, even being left out of the Champions League squad rather unfairly.

Barcelona want him back, and have made him a prime target for the summer window.

According to Sky Sports News and Lyall Thomas,  despite the rumours linking Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino to Barcelona this summer, the Catalan club are only interested in signing Chelsea's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang would have signed for Barcelona in January but he could not be registered for more than two clubs in the one season.

His intention has been to leave Chelsea for a number of months and he is expected to leave the club as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

Barcelona have been priced out of a move for Athletico Paranaense striker Vitor Roque who now looks certain to sign for Chelsea, and they have now set their sights on Aubameyang.

The stumbling blocks in the deal will be whether Barcelona can get it approved by Financial Fair Play, with Lionel Messi's contract already a bit of a push for the Spanish Giants to get approved.

Aubameyang will not look back on his time in the blue part of London with any sort of fondness, and he may regret angering the red side of London to make it happen.
