A lot of eyebrows were raised when Chelsea allowed Tammy Abraham to leave the club for Roma in 2021, and the brows got higher the more Abraham scored over in Seria A.

Chelsea could really do with a player of his quality in the squad now with a real lack of strikers, and may be interested in bringing him home in the summer.

The club have a buy-back clause for the English striker, but it is not going to be a cheap deal.

According to Football Insider , Chelsea are interested in bringing Tammy Abraham back to the club in the summer.

Chelsea have an £80million buy-back clause on Abraham, but would likely try to negotiate a lower fee with Roma before triggering that clause.

Abraham has 10 goal contributions in 24 games for Roma this season, which is a drop off from his tally the season before. Nevertheless Chelsea are still interested and would love him back in the team.

Chelsea have scored six goals since the World Cup ended, and that is largely due to having no number nine in the team. Close to £600million was spent but it means nothing without a key piece in the puzzle.

Roma would likely want to keep hold of Abraham, but the player would be keen on a move back to the club he started his career at.

Chelsea are yet to make contact but it's a deal to keep an eye on as the summer window approaches.
