As Liverpool prepare for a busy summer transfer window, they are interested in two midfielders currently plying their trade in Serie A according to a report.

After a very disappointing campaign that has left the Reds struggling for a top-four finish in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp is expected to go in search of multiple reinforcements to his squad this summer.

Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, and James Milner are all out of contract when the season ends and could leave the club whilst the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher, Joel Matip, and Kostas Tsimikas have also been linked with a move away.

The midfield looks like the main focus for the rebuild and the chase for Jude Bellingham's signature is likely to have a huge influence on any other business that the Anfield hierarchy does this summer based on the size of the potential transfer fee involved.

According to FCInternews via Sport Witness, Liverpool are still searching for other midfielders however, and are reported to be 'looking at' Marcelo Brozovic of Inter Milan and Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The Croatian still has a contract at I Nerazzurri until 2026 but according to the outlet his future at the club could be in doubt as one of the highest wage earners whilst Frenchman Rabiot is out of contract and will be available on a free transfer.

The Transfer Room Verdict

Despite the obvious qualities of both international players, Liverpool are likely to be looking at younger options this summer to form the basis of their midfield for years to come.
