Nathaniel Phillips urged his way into Liverpool favour from obscurity during the last few campaigns, thanks to impressive performances when called upon in a defensive injury crisis, he now looks like he may be set to exit Anfield this summer.

As per The Athletic, previously relegated Leeds United are interested in a move for Phillips.

Despite the 'the whites' remaining without a manager following a short stint with Sam Allardyce in closing stages of last season, the move is said to be engerneered by the club nonetheless.

"Leeds’s pursuit of the 26-year-old is believed to be irrespective of their head coach and sporting director appointments."

Furthermore, the signing would allign with the prefernece of the favourtite to get the job at Elland road, "former Borussia Monchengladbach coach Daniel Farke is among the managerial favourites to take over at Elland Road and the German was keen to recruit Phillips when in charge of Norwich City."

Nat Phillips only made five first-team appearnances last for the reds last season, however, the club still believe that they can get a decent sum of money for the 26-year-old.

"Liverpool are thought to be looking for up to £10million ($12.7m) for Phillips, who is under contract until 2025."
