After a disappointing season, Jurgen Klopp is expected to oversee an overhaul to his Liverpool squad this summer.

Klopp has seen his team struggle to recapture their form of a year ago and has acknowledged the need for reinforcements at Anfield next season.

The midfield at Liverpool has come under fire for a number of lacklustre performances that has left them struggling to make the Premier League's top four whilst exiting all three cup competitions.

Jude Bellingham appears to remain Klopp's number-one priority and the Anfield hierarchy are also reported to be tracking the contract situation with Mason Mount at Chelsea.

According to calciomercato.com, Liverpool could make a move for Brighton & Hove Albion pair Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.

There was reported Reds interest in Caicedo in January but the Seagulls held firm that they would not allow the Ecuadorian, who has since signed a new long-term contract, to depart.

World Cup winner Mac Allister has been a revelation this season and as per the Italian publication is attracting interest from Juventus, RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Manchester City as well as Liverpool.

The outlet claims however that a price of around €75million for the 24-year-old could be difficult for the Italian clubs to find meaning a move to another Premier League club remains a possibility.

The Transfer Room Verdict

Liverpool clearly have a list of preferred midfield targets for the summer and it's possible the Brighton pair are high up on that.

Neither player will come cheap though so much could depend on whether Klopp and Liverpool are successful in their pursuit of England international Bellingham who is reported to have a price tag of around €150million.
