Liverpool have already submitted a huge bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham according to a well-known football agent.

The 19-year-old is expected to leave the Bundesliga club this summer despite their attempts to keep him. Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and other top European clubs are all reported as being interested in the player who is regarded by many as a generational talent.

The Reds are in need of midfield reinforcements after a disappointing season which has left them struggling to make the Premier League's top four and with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo expected to leave this summer.

England international Bellingham has long been Klopp's priority but there have also been strong links to Mason Mount of Chelsea and Matheus Nunes of Wolves of late.

Agent Haydn Dodge told CaughtOffside however that the Anfield hierarchy have already made their move by placing a huge bid for Bellingham ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

“It’s known that a bid [from Liverpool] just shy of £100m has been submitted for Jude Bellingham ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

“A revamp in the middle of the park is exactly what Liverpool, their fans and Jurgen Klopp need so it is not surprising to see them going all out for Bellingham.”

The Transfer Room Verdict

This is another interesting development regarding Bellingham's situation with Liverpool clearly keen to get ahead of their rivals in the battle for his services.

Based on recent speculation, however, the amount of the bid quoted by Dodge may appear a bit light with the player expected to be transferred for a significantly higher fee.
