Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all interested in Chelsea midfielder, Mateo Kovacic according to a report.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to upgrade his midfield options this summer with the club almost certainly losing Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the end of their contracts, and Arthur Melo returning to Juventus after his loan spell.

It is well publicised that Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham is Klopp's number one target but there also appears to be strong interest in Chelsea's Mason Mount and Matheus Nunes of Wolves.

According to 90MIN, Liverpool, along with their Premier League rivals are 'exploring the potential signing' of Kovacic who will enter the final year of his contract next season.

Whilst the outlet claims that the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are still keen to extend the 28-year-old's contract with the Blues, the suggestion is that his representatives are looking at all available options which could include staying in the Premier League but not with Chelsea.

The Transfer Room Verdict

There is no doubt that Kovacic is a top-quality player but whether chiefs at Anfield would be prepared to invest in the former Real Madrid player who will turn 29 seems unlikely.
