Simone Inzaghi wants Inter Milan to sign another striker this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

This season, Inter have had four senior forwards in the squad.

Captain Lautaro Martinez and France international Marcus Thuram have been the two clear first-choice starters in attack.

Then, as backup options there have been two veteran players. Former Arsenal and Barcelona forward re-joined Inter last summer. As did ex-West Ham United and Stoke City striker Marko Arnautovic.

Naturally, barring major surprises, Martinez and Thuram will stay at Inter for next season.

Meanwhile, Sanchez will definitely be on his way out. The Chilean’s contract with Inter only runs until the end of June of this year, and will not be extended.

Meanwhile, the situation with Arnautovic is up in the air a bit.

The Austrian is under contract with Inter until the end of next June.

The Nerazzurri could certainly listen to offers for Arnautovic. But on the other hand, he could remain at the club as a sort of backup option.

And then, Joaquin Correa will be back this summer following a dismal loan spell at Marseille.

Inter will certainly want to offload Correa. However, that may prove easier said than done.

Simone Inzaghi Wants Inter Milan To Sign Another Striker

Inter are already making one major attacking signing this summer.

It is just a matter of time before 31-year-old Iran international Mehdi Taremi’s move on a free transfer from Porto becomes official.

But the Corriere report that Inzaghi isn’t satisfied with just Taremi’s arrival.

The Inter coach feels that four strikers may not be enough.

Particularly given the way that the squad looked stretched thin during injury absneces for Arnautovic and Thuram this season.

Inzaghi has made clear to the Inter directors that his priority is bringing in a striker.

The priority target is Albert Gudmundsson of Genoa. Whether the 26-year-old would prove attainable, however, is another story.
