Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas will reportedly maintain his starting berth between the posts in this weekend’s clash against Inter Milan. The Biancocelesti will be looking to spoil the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto party on Sunday and register a win that boosts the club’s European aspirations. The match kicks off at San Siro at 18:00 local time.

According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio coach Igor Tudor will give the nod to Mandas once more. The Greek has been impressive in goal since replacing the injured Ivan Provedel in March, proving himself to be a reliable option.

But even with the Italian custodian’s return to action, the Croatian manager has yet to drop Mandas from the starting lineup. Last week, Tudor suggested that Provedel still requires time to regain his optimal physical condition, insisting that the latter remains the Number One choice between the sticks.

Nevertheless, the 48-year-old has reportedly decided to hand the starting gloves to Mandas for the two remaining fixtures of the season against Inter and Sassuolo. The Greek was sensational in his last outing against Empoli, and was almost unanimously considered the Man of the Match.

The source adds that the club will then decide the future of two goalkeepers in the summer, which suggests that one of them could be sold to avoid an internal rivalry.
