Romano confirms £165k-a-week Tottenham ace has made a decision on his future

Tottenham Hotspur signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on loan during the January transfer window.

The German international has been quite impressive for the London club since joining them, and he has two goals and three assists in all competitions.

Although he has not been a regular starter for Tottenham, he has impressed with his cameos and Fabricio Romano has now revealed to CaughtOffside that the player wants to continue at Tottenham beyond this season.

The final decision rests with the Premier League club and they will discuss his situation in May.

“Timo Werner is clear; he wants to stay at Tottenham, but Spurs will decide what they want to do closer to the end of the season, not now,” Fabrizio Romano said to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing.

“There’s nothing we can add in terms of news as it’s the club’s stance and we can’t do anything about that.

“Spurs want to take their time and discuss things probably around May.

“Werner is happy at Tottenham, but it’s up to the club.”

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to keep him at the club long-term. They have an option to make the move permanent for a reasonable price.

Timo Werner could be a useful option for Tottenham

Werner earns around £165,000 a week and he will be hoping to establish himself as a key player for them in the coming months. He has certainly shown that he is a good fit for their style of play and he could be useful acquisition for them in the long term.

The German international is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three, and he will chip in with goals and creativity. Tottenham’s attacking style of play has been a good fit for the former Chelsea star as well.

Tottenham are already lacking in depth when it comes to the attacking department, and making Werner’s move permanent for a reasonable fee, could prove to be a wise decision.

The 28-year-old is well settled in the Premier League, and he will be an important player for them.
