Reports have linked Juventus and Brighton with Lazar Samardzic, so what’s the truth regarding the Udinese starlet’s future?

The 22-year-old Serbian midfielder has been a central figure in the Serie A transfer market over the last 12 months, looking just a step away from joining Inter last summer before everything collapsed. In January, he was a key target of Napoli but again failed to make the jump.

Samardzic has a little over two years left on his contract with Udinese and is expected to finally make the jump to a top club in the summer, especially after the difficulties at the Friulian side this term. He’s netted four goals and provided two assists across 30 Serie A matches.

Samardzic situation

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on Juventus and Brighton’s reported interest in Samardzic via Caught Offside.

At this stage, the Seagulls haven’t made a move for the Serbian midfielder yet, not helped by the fact that he’d prefer to stay in Serie A.

Interested parties are waiting to see if Udinese will suffer relegation to Serie B, which’ll have a clear impact on his price tag in the Friulian capital. Juventus are fans of Samardzic, but for now their priority appears to be Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.
