Chris Wondolowski and Clarence Goodson have taken another step toward representing the United States at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The San Jose Earthquakes duo have been called up to the US National Team in advance of the squad’s final tune-up match before the World Cup kicks off on June 12. Wondolowski and Goodson will be part of a squad that takes on Mexico on April 2 at 8pm at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The face-off against Mexico will provide Wondolowski, who has made 18 appearances with the national team and Goodson who has made 45, with one final opportunity to cement a spot on the plane to Brazil. “Everyone knows the clock is ticking,” said head coach Jurgen Klinnsman in a statement. “This is a huge opportunity for our players to show where they are at and to make their case.
