Giorgio Scalvini is expected to remain out of action for at least a month following a muscle injury, so he will miss games against Liverpool in the Europa League.

The Italy international was forced off the pitch during the second half of Atalanta‘s 3-0 win over Napoli at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday.

According to multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta, the 20-year-old will remain out of action for at least one month following a bicep injury which was confirmed after medical tests on Tuesday morning.

This means the Italian centre-back will miss at least eight matches for La Dea, including the Europa League quarter-finals with Liverpool.

The first leg will be played at Anfield on Thursday, April 11, while the decider is at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo the following week, on April 18.

Scalvini has played 34 games across all competitions this season, scoring one goal and delivering three assists. He has also made eight appearances with the Italian national team.

Berat Djimsiti is expected to replace Scalvini on Wednesday in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals at the Stadio Franchi.
