Schar on 8-0 rout: Newcastle players know we must always be at 100%

Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar has gave an insight into the team's season so far.

The Magpies did not start the campaign in the very best way, losing three straight games to tough opponents.

After successive losses to Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton, they have won two in a row in the league.

After an 8-0 win over Sheffield United, Schar said: "We knew we were in a difficult situation. We should not have lost games though, especially to Liverpool.

The momentum was not on our side that day. But only hard work can change the situation.

That's what we've done. We know the Premier League is our main bit of business. We have to get the work done here first.

We can't not turn up in the Premier League and not play 100%. Mentally I think we showed we were spot on and we have to keep going like this."
