Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes.

The 22-year-old has been quite impressive since his move to the Premier League club and Wolves might be open to selling him for a fee of around €35 million.

A report from Fla Web claims that Tottenham are ‘keeping an eye’ on the player and they are ready to ‘make an investment’ in him ‘very soon’.

The 22-year-old would be a solid future prospect for Tottenham and they could help him develop into a reliable Premier League performer.

It is no secret that Spurs need midfield reinforcements and they could use a playmaker like him.

Gomes will add creativity and control in the middle of the park. The Londoners have been overly reliant on James Maddison for creativity from the midfield and they need more options at their disposal.

The 22-year-old technically gifted midfielder would represent an excellent investment for the north London club and the reported asking price seems quite reasonable as well. Gomes certainly has the potential to justify the €35 million investment.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can secure his signature this month.

The north London outfit will need to improve their squad considerably in order to secure Champions League qualification this season and they have already brought in the likes of Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner. They have been linked with Conor Gallagher as well.

Signing the Brazilian would be a wise decision and he could make an immediate impact at the Premier League club. He has already adapted to English football with Wolves and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can work out an agreement soon.
