Tottenham Hotspur may bid farewell to one of their midfielders in the coming days.

Spurs’ Giovani Lo Celso is reportedly linked with a move away due to limited playing time under Ange Postecoglou this season.

According to the Turkish newspaper Aksam, Galatasaray are close to securing the signing of the Argentine midfielder, with Turkey’s transfer window set to remain open until Friday, February 9th.

The report claims that negotiations with Tottenham are ongoing and the player is ‘also positive’ about the move to the Turkish club.

It has been reported that the Super Lig club has already prepared the No. 10 jersey for Lo Celso’s potential arrival, and the only thing left is for the two clubs to agree a deal.

The attacking midfielder has struggled to earn regular opportunities for Spurs, making only ten appearances in the Premier League.

Despite his limited appearances, Lo Celso has made an impact, contributing with two goals and two assists.

The 27-year-old’s injury record hasn’t helped his situation, either, as he has missed ten games for the club this season due to hamstring and muscle injuries.

Tottenham initially signed Lo Celso on a season-long loan from Real Betis in the summer of 2019 before making the deal permanent in January the following year for a transfer fee of £27.2 million.

The former PSG midfielder has gone on to make 96 appearances for the North London outfit, contributing ten goals and eight assists.

With the midfield options of Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, and Pape Matar Sarr available for Postecoglou, it seems likely that Lo Celso could be offloaded.
