Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah was bullied by security personnel when he tried to enter the VIP lounge at the Baba Yara Stadium during Ghana’s 2014 World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
The Ghana Ministry of Sports lined up the former Juventus man who led Ghana to two successive World Cup appearances and a group of former internationals to motivate the Black Stars squad ahead of their 4-0 drubbing of Sudan.
Appiah was on his way to the VIP lounge at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi when he was turned away by a security personnel at the entrance.
Officials at the lounge intervened to prevent further embarrassment but the security personnel stood his ground causing Appiah to decide to leave the Stadium for his child’s birthday party which he abandoned to motivate the Black Stars players.
