Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is unlikely to survive this season in charge.

The Dutchman is under huge pressure from the club's new investors INEOS, who want results.

Ten Hag's United are adrift in the race for the Premier League top four, with Manchester Evening News stating a decision on his future has been made.

Many players are not happy with the intensity of Ten Hag's training sessions this term.

They believe that such intensity is the reason why the club has experienced so many injuries.

United legend Paul Scholes believes INEOS have already decided to fire Ten Hag in the summer.

Scholes told Optus Sport on Sunday: "What we're seeing is a million miles away from a team that should be challenging for the league. Every single season it's just so far away."

Scholes added: "I think they [INEOS] have already made their mind up. I don't think he will be there next season. No.

"From the interviews, we've heard with Sir Jim, I thought there was a little bit of negativity towards the club the last 10 or 11 years and especially the last two years. I don't think he's happy with what's going on. I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking for a new manager now. I'm not saying it's the right decision."
