It wasn’t that long ago that Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah and Chris Wilder’s working relationship had broken down, back in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
Fast-forward four years, Wilder and United’s owner are back on the same page after resolving their issues before the 56-year-old rejoined his boyhood club for a second spell as the gaffer.
With Chris Wilder having a contract until the summer of 2025, if Sheffield United are indeed relegated this season, he seemingly has one shot to get the club back to the Premier League.
The future of Sheffield United is bright thanks to Chris Wilder and Prince Abdullah
Speaking on the Blades Heaven podcast recently, former Blades striker Carl Asaba detailed his excitement over Wilder and Prince Abdullah’s reformed relationship and what it means for the club.
“The manager and the owner are on the same page and have come back together. They have both done great and been really positive for the club.
“We own our training ground, we own our ground, and, we are stabilising debts. He [the owner] doesn’t get the acclaim he deserves. These two powerhouses on the same page for the same outcome. It’s positive.”
The board are finally making progress into improving the overall infrastructure of Sheffield United Football Club. During Wilder’s first Blades tenure in the top-flight he had hopes of improving the first-team facilities, and now at the start of his second tenure the plans are looking really positive on this front.
Even if relegation to the Championship is confirmed, the future still looks bright for the Blades.
