A Mexican broadcaster is pushing hard for AC Milan to sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez who is one of many names being linked with the Rossoneri.

The X account of TNT Sports Mexico tweeted an edited image of Gimenez celebrating whilst wearing the current Milan home shirt, with a caption that read: “The Rossonero 9 that we want, Gimenez looks good with AC Milan”.

The Mexican striker has been linked with a move away from Feyenoord for a long time now given his excellent goal record. This season he has 24 goals in all competitions and has seven assists to his name as well.

At 23 years old, he is now entering his prime and could be looking to take the next step in his career.

Gimenez’s agent is his father and he was spotted in the city of Milan last month, supposedly to meet with Milan director Geoffrey Moncada.

The Dutch side would like to receive around €50m for Gimenez but as things currently stand, it looks more likely that Milan will go all-in on Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee for €60m.

The next alternative seems to be Serhou Guirassy at Stuttgart, as he has got a €17.5m release clause which is very attractive.
