Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood claims Gareth Bale would have given the Spurs a shot at the Premier League title had he not left the club in the summer, according to a report in The Sun. -Former Tottenham attacker Sergei Rebrov has taken over at Dynamo Kiev. Rebrov will be given a chance to try his hand at management as he has been installed as Dynamo Kiev’s caretaker boss for the rest of the season. -The Daily Mail have stated that Roma are hot on the heels of Paulinho and want to bring him to Italy in the off-season. Paulinho’s box-to-box play has been a plus point in his time at Tottenham, with good movement off the ball noticeable. -Sherwood made some comments that could definitely be read as ripping his own team. He really described them as a mediocre bunch where no one really stands out. “I have assessed the players more than anyone. I could not tell you the best 11 players at Tottenham,” Sherwood said. “There are all so similar, much of a muchness regarding the same quality. I’m not sure there’s any hierarchy. Or whether any one player is better than another. “Our two exceptions are the goalie and Adebayor. Christian Eriksen is getting that way inclined, you can’t leave him out at the moment. “They are all good but the fans know it themselves,” the 45-year-old continued. “Is there any world-class Gareth Bale-type player? No, there is not. Always you look for blend. Some of the guys are quite similar in the way that they play. We need different types of midfield player, for instance.” Paul M.
