Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bolstering their attack ahead of next season and they have their eyes set on Raphinha.

The 27-year-old Brazilian winger’s future at Barcelona is not certain and Spurs are keen on having him in their ranks as per Dean Jones via GiveMeSport.

“I’m not very expectant over Raphinha, even though Tottenham are interested in him. They have a few like him on their list but I get the feeling he is on it more in hope than expectation. This is a serious talent. I know he has not set the world alight at Barcelona but he has been desperate to make that move work out and he’s still in the starting XI for Brazil so this is a player who retains high value in the market and Barca would deal with that accordingly if interested parties make contact. I have a feeling that if Spurs sign a player from La Liga it might be more likely they try for Nico Williams. He’s on the list too and actually might be a better fit at a better price.”

Raphinha made a name for himself while playing in the Premier League for Leeds United. He earned a lot of plaudits for the manner in which he settled in England and the performances he put in. Barcelona came calling and signed him for around £55 million in 2022.

Since joining the Spanish giants he has featured in 78 matches and has contributed towards 37 goals. While he has 15 goal contributions in his 28 outings this season, the Brazilian hasn’t managed to cement himself in the starting XI.

Tottenham will need to pay big-money for Raphinha

Given the kind of financial situation Barcelona are in, they will have to sanction departures in order to reinforce their squad in the summer. As a result, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club.

According to Jones, Spurs are very much interested in him as they look to add more firepower to their attack. The North London club want more quality on the right flank and Raphinha is one of the names on their radar.

Meanwhile, the player is keen on continuing at the Spanish club as he is determined to make the move work.

Jones feels that Spurs have him on their list more in hope than in expectation. Barcelona forked a significant fee to land him at the club and they will only let him leave if they get the kind of offer they want. While Spurs want reinforcements, they will look for someone who is a better fit at a better price.
