Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has given his thoughts on Cristian Romero's international situation.

Romero is one of many senior players at a European club who is wanting to play at the Olympics for his nation.

While Argentina may call him up, given how the tournament is classified by FIFA, Spurs can refuse him permission to go.

Postecoglou told reporters this week: Yeah, look with all those things, the Olympics is a little bit of a different issue because clubs aren't obliged to release players.

Certainly as a club we'll make sure there is a balance there.

My advice would be with the Copa America and hopefully us gearing up for a big season, rest would be the better policy."
