Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo.

The North London club are looking to reinforce their squad in the upcoming transfer window and signing a new centre-back will be one of their priorities.

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Spurs are interested in having Jean-Clair Todibo in their squad and are willing to battle it out with Manchester United to land him at the club.

Things might not have worked out for Todibo in Barcelona but he has surely revived himself since making the move to OGC Nice. The 24-year-old has established himself in the heart of their defence and his performances have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe.

Manchester United are looking to add a new centre-back to the mix with a few of their senior defenders expected to be on the move in the summer. They have identified Todibo as a top target and have an advantage in their pursuit as United’s new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns the French centre-back’s current employer Nice.

While Todibo is ready to make the move to the English giants, the Red Devils are in danger of losing out on his signature as their new-look hierarchy have not made a final decision on how much they are willing to fork out to sign him.

This could give Tottenham Hotspur the perfect opportunity to sign the 24-year-old defender. They have already sent scouts to watch him in action, despite him being a top target for Manchester United.

The North London club’s manager Ange Postecoglou seeks more depth at the back as he looks to build a team that could compete for major titles. Todibo could be an ideal fit for them, he will add depth and also compete for a place in the starting lineup.

Spurs have been on alert ever since it emerged that a deal for a cut-price fee of £40 million could be struck to sign the French international. With United yet to make a decision with regards to their pursuit of the Nice defender, Tottenham could end up winning the race for his signature.
