Kevin Sousa-USA TODAY Sports

Defender Zorhan Bassong signed a one-year contract with Sporting Kansas City on Tuesday with club options for 2025 and 2026.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the club for Bassong, who will occupy an international slot pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 visa.

Bassong, 24, recorded one assist in 36 career matches (14 starts) with CF Montreal in 2021-22. The Canadian then spent 2023 in Romania with Arges Pitesti and Farul Constanta.

--The Philadelphia Union signed 21-year-old defender Isaiah LeFlore to a guaranteed one-year deal for 2024 with club options for 2025, 2026 and 2027.

LeFlore led all MLS NEXT Pro defenders with six assists for Houston Dynamo 2 in 2023. He led the team in tackles (33), interceptions (52) and duels (272).

"Isaiah is a promising young prospect with potential to fit well in our system," Union sporting director Ernst Tanner said. "He's an offensive-minded left back who is ready to test himself at the next level, and we look forward to contributing to his development."
