Trent Alexander-Arnold just dropped biggest Liverpool contract u-turn hint yet

A second Premier League title win in five years for Liverpool inspired heavy celebrations after a 5-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday.

Arne Slot helped lead the post-match fanfare , recreating Jurgen Klopp’s iconic chant (but instead honouring his predecessor).

The celebrations didn’t end after fans and players had cleared Anfield, with the first team sharing jubilant scenes inside the changing rooms (via Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Instagram story).

Trent Alexander-Arnold celebrates Liverpool title win

It’s hardly surprising that our vice-captain was more than happy to get stuck into our title celebrations after the full-time whistle.

Going to Real Madrid in the summer or no, a Premier League title is an incredible achievement to honour.

Let’s be honest – he was hardly going to be seen sulking in a corner whilst Virgil van Dijk and Co. sang their hearts out, was he?

Still, the No.66 also didn’t need to personally broadcast his involvement in the celebrations. Is it enough to read into at a time when his future at the club is still far from certain?

It probably isn’t enough to go on without a helpful dash of optimism (or delusion – take your pick!).

Leaving Anfield now makes no sense

It’s nine trophies for Trent Alexander-Arnold at his boyhood club. That’s including two Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph in 2018/19.

This is a club that’s built to win the biggest silverware on offer domestically and abroad. Yes, our 26-year-old fullback can rightly point out that Real Madrid are the dominant force in Europe with a record 15 Champions League wins to their name.

But is this Liverpool side one that is less equipped, in comparison to Los Blancos, to compete for future titles?

Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah have answered that question emphatically by committing to two more years under Arne Slot. Potentially their two best remaining years in the sport, it’s worth emphasising.

Has Alexander-Arnold really thought about this? Perhaps John W Henry can help put him on the right path

Liverpool preparing for departures amid ambitious Alexander Isak pursuit

Despite surpassing $400 million in summer spending following the blockbuster signing of French forward Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool has been placed on high alert amid reports that Newcastle striker Alexander Isak is open to exploring a move away from St. James’ Park. While Isak’s intentions may partly reflect a bid for an improved contract, Newcastle appear increasingly resigned to the possibility of losing their star forward. Arne Slot’s side is reportedly leading the race for the 25-year-old, who is attracting interest from top clubs across Europe. A potential move for Isak would hinge on departures at Anfield, and Liverpool has already begun reshaping its front line. Luis Diaz is expected to join Bayern Munich in a deal worth approximately $87 million, with just two years remaining on his contract. Reports suggest talks over an extension broke down before the club granted the Colombian's request to leave. Darwin Nunez could also depart this summer. The striker is said to be on the radar of AC Milan and Juventus, while Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal is also monitoring his situation, according to Sky Sports. Midfielder Harvey Elliott could also be sold to generate further funds, with the 22-year-old likely to command a substantial fee. Offloading these players would significantly boost Liverpool’s transfer budget as it prepares a bid for Isak, with Newcastle reportedly seeking up to $200 million for the Swedish international, particularly given the likelihood of selling to a Premier League rival. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle is “braced” for a formal offer from Liverpool, and the same report claims Isak is keen on the move to Anfield. Liverpool, fresh off securing a record 20th Premier League title last season, appears poised for a period of sustained dominance. Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, signed from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth over $150 million, have bolstered the club’s attacking options. The Reds have also strengthened defensively. Jeremie Frimpong arrives from Leverkusen as a direct replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid, while Milos Kerkez has been brought in from Bournemouth to add depth to the back line.

New Report on Warriors-Kings Trade That Would Swap Jonathan Kuminga, DeMar DeRozan

New Report on Warriors-Kings Trade That Would Swap Jonathan Kuminga, DeMar DeRozan

Jonathan Kuminga has remained a free agent this offseason. There's no telling how his situation will resolve itself with the Golden State Warriors, but ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel has confirmed that the Sacramento Kings are among his interested suitors. It's unclear if the Warriors want to keep Kuminga around, but it's also clear that if he wants to join another team, they wouldn't want to lose him for nothing. One way the Warriors and Kings could resolve the Kuminga situation is by agreeing to a sign-and-trade that would swap Kuminga for players on the Kings roster. It would depend on who the Warriors would want in return for Kuminga. The Kings have some players to offer in exchange for the wing, like DeMar DeRozan or Devin Carter, so getting them would be something for Kuminga. However, even if the Warriors could entertain a sign-and-trade for the young wing, they're not interested in those two Kings. More than that, Sacramento may want Kuminga but only at a fair price. Sam Amick revealed the details during his appearance on Warriors Plus/Minus. "My understanding is the Warriors weren't interested in Carter or DeRozan," Amick said, which was aggregated by 95.7 The Game's Evan Giddings. "As of a couple weeks ago, the Kings weren't willing to pay Kuminga into the $20 million range (per year)." DeRozan is a six-time All-Star who will enter the second year of a three-year, $78.9 million contract. The Warriors are not above either of the NBA's tax aprons at the moment, while the Kings are hard-capped at the first apron.

Steelers reporter shares big claim about how Aaron Rodgers has looked in training camp

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent the bulk of the spring as an unsigned free agent and, thus, only began officially practicing with Pittsburgh Steelers teammates during the team's three-day mandatory minicamp in June. During a Monday appearance on Pittsburgh radio station 102.5 WDVE, Steelers reporter Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette addressed how Rodgers looked during his first few training camp practices with the club. "His release is just astonishing to watch," Dulac said about Rodgers, as shared by Ross McCorkle of Steelers Depot. "Everybody knows about it, and when you see it in person, you see it every day in practice, you just marvel at it. To me, he's the greatest thrower of the football I have ever seen, even at 41 (years old). That flick of that wrist and that ball comes out, it's moving and it is something to see." Rodgers was with the New York Jets when he suffered a torn Achilles four offensive snaps into the 2023 regular-season opener. He was then slowed by a nagging hip issue, injuries to both his knees, a low ankle sprain and a serious hamstring problem as the 2024 Jets went 5-12. According to Pro Football Reference, Rodgers finished last season ranked 28th in the NFL among qualified players with a 48.0 adjusted QBR and 26th with a 43.9 percent passing success rate. That said, he was also eighth with 3,897 passing yards and tied for seventh with 28 passing touchdowns. Rodgers and Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson endured some struggles during training camp sessions last summer before the two allegedly "never saw eye-to-eye" during the season. It sounds like Pittsburgh fans should be encouraged by how Rodgers performed in recent practices. "That guy can get rid of the ball as quick as anybody," Dulac added. "He made three throws in seven-on-seven (drills) the other day that the cumulative total I bet couldn't have exceeded 2.1 seconds. And two of those were for touchdowns." Rodgers wants to finish his career "the right way" and help the Steelers notch at least their first playoff win since January 2017. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Pittsburgh at -150 betting odds to miss the playoffs for the upcoming season.

Chicago Sky Coach Issues Strong Statement After Loss to Caitlin Clark-Less Fever

The Chicago Sky put up a good fight on Sunday against the Indiana Fever. Despite not having the services of two-time All-Star Angel Reese due to a back injury, the shorthanded Sky battled hard against an Indiana side that was also missing the injured Caitlin Clark. In the end, however, Chicago still lost out, 93-78, marking their third defeat to the Fever in three games played this season. This was also the Sky’s fifth consecutive loss as they fell to 7-18 on the season. Sky Coach Tyler Marsh Reacts to Fever Defeat In his postgame press conference, Chicago head coach Tyler Marsh sent a defiant message following the disappointing loss. The rookie shot-caller heaped praise on his players’ effort in the game. "You learn to be proud of efforts like these,” he said, via Sky reporter Karli Bell. “One thing about us is we're not going to give up." Reese wasn’t the only player sidelined on Sunday. Ariel Atkins, Moriah Jefferson and Hailey Van Lith also sat out due to respective injuries. Courtney Vandersloot has also been out of commission after undergoing season-ending surgery on her ACL in June. It was Rachel Banham who led the charge for Chicago in this one, going off for a season-high 26 points on six triples. It still wasn’t enough, though, as the Fever still managed to hold off the Sky. "I thought we played three quarters of really tough basketball," Marsh added. The Sky will need to focus on the silver lining from this tough loss as they prepare for their next game. This comes in the form of a road matchup against the 12-13 Washington Mystics on Tuesday. At this point, it remains to be seen if Reese will be ready to go for that one.
