Igor Tudor is already planning to completely revamp Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio, trying out a three-man defence in training.

Sarri resigned last week after four consecutive defeats in all competitions and his assistant manager Giovanni Martusciello was in the caretaker role for the victory away to Frosinone.

Tudor had his first training session today and is wasting no time completely rebuilding the squad that was left to him.

While Sarri repeatedly laughed off suggestions that he change his beloved 4-3-3 formation, Tudor is already trying out a three-man defence.

It is reported to be a 3-4-2-1 system, although inevitably the options are limited by the players who are away on international duty.

This would move Luis Alberto into a more advanced role along with Felipe Anderson supporting the lone centre-forward, who would be either Ciro Immobile or Taty Castellanos.

In the absence of left-sided wingers, Pedro was given that position for this session, with Manuel Lazzari on the right.

Tudor will make his debut on the Lazio bench against his former club Juventus on March 30.

He was with the Bianconeri both as a player and assistant manager to Andrea Pirlo.
