Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is one of the candidates to become Los Che’s annual sale of one of their best young players this summer, with the most recent links to the Premier League. Replacing him is no easy task though.

As per Relevo, Valencia have a verbal agreement with Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, who is out of contract at the end of the season. The Macedonian has two good offers from Saudi Arabia, but will prioritise a move to Mestalla.

However Valencia have no plans to end up with two starting quality goalkeepers next season, and will only seal a deal with Dimitrievski if Mamardashvili is sold. Hence in a swift sale in the next two months is required in order to hold onto Dimitrievski as a replacement, but there is little sign of an imminent bid for Mamardashvili. The 30-year-old will prioritise Valencia, but will not wait for ever, and will consider other options if he is not signed by the end of his contract in June.

The most recent links to Mamardashvili were involving Newcastle United, and a fee of about €25-35m is thought to be enough to extract the giant Georgian. Nick Pope is no slouch in goal either though. Dimitrievski is not the same standard as Mamardashvili, but represents a solid and cheap alternative for Los Che.
