Aston Villa defender Matty Cash admits the players are aware a fifth-place finish can earn a Champions League place.
Due to the UEFA co-efficient, the Premier League could be granted an extra place for this season.
"We have spoken about that in meetings. We are not looking too far ahead, I know it's not the answer you want to hear," Cash said.
But it's what we speak about, our main focus right now is obviously to bounce back from a defeat we didn't want. That is all we are focusing on.
Our main focus is to finish as high as we can. We don't want to put too much pressure on ourselves, what we have done is focus on the next game. I know that's cliche, but that's all we can do.
That's got us this far with our mentality and the way we perform. We want to finish as high as we can, we are very ambitious, the owners, the fans, we all want to do as well as we can. We just want to focus on each game."
