Tottenham Hotspur’s young loanee defender, Ashley Phillips, has been impressing at his new club.

The teenage center-back made the move to Championship side Plymouth Argyle on loan in January for the remainder of the season.

Since joining, Phillips has seamlessly integrated into Plymouth’s squad, featuring in 13 league matches and starting in 11 of them, according to Transfermarkt.

Ashley Phillips’ incredible defending vs Norwich

In Plymouth’s recent game against Norwich, the 18-year-old showcased his defensive prowess with a standout last-man defensive play.

Phillips demonstrated his speed and exceptional recovery by executing a crucial tackle to deny Norwich’s Josh Sargent, who was advancing toward goal with a clear scoring opportunity.

His teammates promptly celebrated his crucial intervention, acknowledging the significance of his defensive effort.

There are shades of Micky van de Ven in his game, which would excite Tottenham fans considering the former Wolfsburg man has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season.
