AC Milan’s Primavera side kept their play-off hopes alive yesterday by beating Frosinone at the PUMA House of Football, and now the picture is clearer on what they need to qualify.

The Primavera came from behind against the rock-bottom side to secure a crucial 2-1 victory in Sunday afternoon’s game at home and it sets up a very tasty clash against Torino in the final round next week.

What exactly does the three points mean for the play-off pursuit? The first certainty concerns the first two places in the standings, occupied by Inter and Roma. Regardless of how the final round ends, the Nerazzurri and Giallorossi will stay there and begin their chase for the title directly from the semi-final.

Three teams have already secured their place in the first round: Lazio, Atalanta and Sassuolo. For the last available place, there are two candidates left: Milan and Torino. The Rossoneri and the Granata will compete on the last day.

In the Piedmontese capital, the Rossoneri will be able to make use of their two-point lead in the standings and will qualify with two out of three results: win or draw.

In the event of victory for the hosts, however, Torino would qualify, leaving Milan Primavera in seventh place, prematurely excluded from the race for final victory.
