Patrick Sharp gives post-game interview without pants

After a huge overtime win in Game 4 which included a nice goal and celebration fail, Patrick Sharp gave a post-game interview without any pants.  I guess since they’re only shooting you from the chest up there’s nothing for him to worry about, but it’s still pretty funny to see. [Reddit]

Cheaters are winning the Bucci Overtime Challenge

It’s been a playoff hockey tradition for the past three years and it has become more popular now than ever.  The rules are simple, a Twitter user needs only to submit their two picks (one from each team) to score the overtime winner using the hashtag #bucciovertimechallenge and ESPN’s John Buccigross will retweet some and give out a few t-shirts.  It started off as only a...

Premature goal horn goes off during Blackhawks-Bruins Game 4

This was an unbelievable play by Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley to feed the puck across to Chris Kelly.  Kelly had a wide open net and jammed the puck into the post after Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival shoved him and the Blackhawks were able to clear it.  The net was so wide open that the people running the goal horn figured it would be a goal and the goal horn...

Johnny Boychuk scores game-tying goal with blast from the point

Less than a minute after Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp scored to give the Blackhawks a 5-4 lead, Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk let an absolute bomb go from the point to tie the game.  Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford was terrible with his glove side all night and Boychuk took advantage of that with this perfect shot.  This goal sent the game to overtime where...

Musician Ben Lapps showed off his musical talents and his basketball skills during this video.  I’m surprised that he could play the guitar so well while dribbling a basketball, definitely not something many people could do. [YouTube]

Tyrann Mathieu throws pitch at D-backs game

The Arizona Diamondbacks recognized the Arizona Cardinals rookies before their game on Tuesday night, and Tyrann Mathieu was selected to throw out the first pitch.  He threw a pretty good pitch right over the plate, even if it wasn’t from on the mound.  Prior to throwing out the pitch, he posed a question for all of his followers: How fast do you guys think I can throw the first...

KXAN Austin News cuts to commercial during Stanley Cup OT goal

There’s a reason that there are no commercials in overtime.  I personally have never seen any commercials during an overtime, even in the regular season, but apparently KXAN Austin News decided it would be a good time to run an ad promo for their new Morning Show during a play.  Unfortunately for viewers, that play turned out to be Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook’s...

Seabrook scores winning goal in OT

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook let a blast go from the point to beat Tuukka Rask for the crucial game-winning goal in Game 4.  Jonathan Toews did a fantastic job screening Rask and he never saw the shot.  The Blackhawks were in a must-win scenario and the series is now tied 2-2 heading to Game 5 in Chicago.

Jason Kidd throws out first pitch at Yankees game

New Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd threw out the ceremonial first pitch during Game 2 of Wednesday’s double-header between the New York Yankees and Los Angles Dodgers game. Kidd, accompanied by his son Chance, did a little better than Denard Robinson getting the ball to the plate. The game also featured Dodgers announcer Vin Scully taking over the Los Angeles Dodgers twitter...

Andrew Wiggins shows off insane athleticism in first KU scrimmage

Andrew Wiggins showed Wednesday during a Kansas Jayhawks summer scrimmage why there’s so much hype surround the 18-year-old. Tabbed as the Canadian “Chosen One,” Wiggins threw down this tomahawk slam right in front of former KU player Cole Adrich. Wiggins’ one season in Lawrence should be one to remember. Johnny Boychuk levels Patrick Sharp with textbook hipcheck

Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk caught Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp with his head down as he entered the Bruins zone.  He tried to drive wide and get into the zone with puck possession, but he forgot to look at where Boychuk was.  Sharp got absolutely leveled with this textbook hipcheck and took exception to the hit.  Too bad for him it was one of the best...

Patrice Bergeron scores game-tying goal with laser slap shot

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron has been an absolute stud throughout the playoffs  and it has continued in Game 4.  He scored a goal after the puck bounced off the top of the net, and then fired an absolute laser to start the 3rd period and beat Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford to tie the game 4-4.  Bergeron deserves some serious Conn Smythe consideration after...

Patrice Bergeron scores goal after puck bounces off top of net

The Boston Bruins have been playing from behind the whole game, but they finally started to get some bounces their way in the second period.  While dominating on the power play, a shot from Zdeno Chara at the point went way over the net, hitting high off the glass.  It deflected up in the air and bounced off the top of the net right to Patrice Bergeron who buried the puck high...

Andrew Shaw eye gouges Brad Marchand during Game 3 fight

At the end of their fight during the waning moment of Game 3, Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw eye gouged Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.  How cameras didn’t pick up sooner on this is beyond me.  Why wasn’t Shaw suspended for this?  This is an extremely dangerous play and has no place in the game of hockey. Nebraska Cornhuskers get new cleats, who is next?

The Texas A&M Aggies got new cleats from Adidas earlier this month, and now the Nebraska Cornhuskers have gotten a new set of cleats.  Will Adidas keep doing this for the rest of their major schools?  Both sets of cleats look good, and who ever came up with the base pattern for these Adi Zero cleats did a very good job. Kliff Kingsbury’s “Suns Up, Guns Up” Office Painting

New Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Kliff Kingsbury has wasted no time installing a new mentality around Lubbock.  This new painting is hanging in his office and it’s actually pretty sweet.  Sometimes you need an alumnus to come in to run your program to run it right.  I have a feeling Kingsbury will have the Red Raiders competing in the Big 12 again in no time. New York Daily News calls Jonathan Toews “Justin”

This is just flat out embarrassing.  If you’re going to do a piece on the captain of one of the most popular teams in the NHL and you’re going to criticize his play, you should get his name right.  This not only speaks to how brutally the New York Daily News is, but to how unpopular the NHL has gotten with their repeated lockouts.
