College football doesn’t really have an offseason. Whether it’s recruiting, projected depth charts, Spring games, there’s always something to discuss with CFB even if games aren’t being played. This past weekend, Crimson Tide starting QB, A.J. McCarron, may have gotten himself into a bit of a pickle. Lingerie model, Margaret Wood, and apparent a friend of the QB, slept...

The New England Patriots official website has been running a “Samsonite Make Your Case” weekly sponsored story since September 2011.  The story poses a question for readers and then they go ahead and debate the topic.  On Friday the question that was posed was, “Tebow to New England?” Pro Football Weekly provided the story and seems to provide occasional stories that...

Samu Manoa’s huge hit on Peter O’Mahony in Rugby Match

The USA Eagles were taking on Ireland in a Rugby Match in Houston, Texas when USA’s Samu Manoa laid this huge hit on Peter O’Mahony.  This was a perfect form tackle that even NFL coaches would love.  I have to imagine without pads on that hit hurt more than it normally would in a football game. NHL 14 Official Trailer unveiled at E3

EA Sports released their first official trailer for the NHL 14 at the E3 convention and it looks pretty sweet.  Not sure how I feel about them switching to a one-touch deke system and removing the skill sticks, but the enforcer engine and revamping the fighting looks pretty sweet. [YouTube]

ESPN’s SportsCenter has fantastic closed captioning incident

ESPN has wasted absolute no time going completely overboard with their Tim Tebow coverage since his signing with the New England Patriots.  They went back and decided to recap the timeline of Tebow’s career when this funny closed captioning screenshot was taken.  You would think that after all the hours of incessant Tebow talk that whoever is doing the closed captioning would...

Dr. J can still dunk at age 63

NBA TV’s documentary, “The Doctor,” ran on Monday night.  The documentary showed that NBA and ABA legend Julius Erving can still dunk at the ripe old age of 63.  To see someone as old as Dr. J do this is pretty incredible, even though he is about 6’7.” [Sporting News]

Henderson pumped for TV show, not NBA Finals

Even during the college basketball offseason Ole Miss’ Marshall Henderson stays in the news. Known mostly for his behavior (taunting the Auburn crowd & Florida fans, flicking off the opposing crowd), the junior guard apparently is skipping Game 2 of the NBA Finals to watch the season premiere of the TV show Pretty Little Liars.  move over Lebron, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS SEASON...

Dr. J can still dunk a basketball at 63-years-old

At 63, Dr. J still has it. NBA TV aired a documentary on Julius Erving on Monday night called The Doctor, and it included this footage of him throwing down a right-handed slam. While we’re on the note of Dr. J dunking, here’s ten of his best rim-rocking jams.

The things we will do for a souvenir baseball…. One Padres fan took a face-plant spill into the bushes going for an 8th inning home run off the bat of Jason Hayword. To make matters worse, his effort didn’t even pay off.

NMA.tv’s bizarre cartoon news report on Tim Tebow signing

As everyone knows, Tim Tebow signed with the New England Patriots and it seems everyone is weighing in on the issue.  I can’t even fully explain what is going on in this cartoon because it is so bizarre.  Just know that it contains a cartoon Bill Belichick giving Rex Ryan a wedgie, Tim Tebow running in the showers, Chad Johnson slapping lawyers on the butt and some violence....

Wes Welker tweets at college football recruit, commits minor NCAA violation

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker took some time out of his day to actively recruit for his alma mater, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.  Unfortunately for him and Red Raiders fans, this is a minor NCAA violation.  Nothing will come of it of course, but the BYU Cougars fans that are hoping to land the recruit, Nick Kurtz, happily pointed it out. @TheKurtzWay You are visiting Lubbock...

Adam Jones, of the Cincinnati Bengals, turned himself in to police a day after his most recent run in with the law.  He was charged with assaulting a woman at a bar, but Jones has maintained that he was innocent and it was out of self-defense.  The truth lies in the tape though. If you watch closely, you can see the woman start the conversation with Jones and then eventually she...

Bill Belichick press conference after Tim Tebow signing is pretty funny

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick isn’t going to let Tebowmania overtake the Patriot Way.  During his first press conference after the Tim Tebow signing, he took about three minutes of questions before he started to get seriously annoyed.  He was his typical gruff self and the greatest part of the press conference was when he told one reporter he had already answered...

Video surfaces of Chad Johnson slapping lawyer’s butt

As was learned earlier in the day, free agent WR Chad Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail after the plea deal broke for CJ after he slapped his lawyer’s butt. TMZ acquired video of the case from Monday with the judge losing her cool after Johnson’s ‘slap.’ Don’t blame the judge for being as harsh as she was with Johnson making a mockery of her courtroom.
