In case you missed it, the Los Angeles Clippers handed the Lakers, one of their worst losses in franchise history.
While most of America tuned out of the blowout while it was going on, Lakers legend Magic Johnson was already sleeping before it happened:
Glad I fell asleep and didn't have to watch the Clippers blow out the Lakers last night.

We here at That NBA Lottery Pick love half-court shots and it appears that the Denver Nuggets decided to face off against each other in an epic half-court shooting contest at the Pepsi Center. Check out many notable Nuggets players firing up half-court shots and well, only three of them were able to make it: Clearly, Timofey Mozgov was just a bit outside… *** Nuggets image courtesy...
Last night’s battle of Los Angeles was easily won by the Clippers and well, the most notable dunk from the game came from one Blake Griffin.
In the third quarter of play, Chris Paul on a fast break found Blake who decided to hammer home the one-handed alley-oop at Staples Center:

While playing in the NBA Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most fun loving players in the league. He was always ready to joke around and have a good time.
Today marks the former All-Star’s 42nd birthday which means there is no better time for him to party. His birthday cake was decorated, fittingly, with his big smiling face on it:

When the Toronto Raptors joined the NBA in 1995 they had one of the best jerseys of the 1990s that was worn by the likes of Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.
Next season the Raptors announced at the players gala that they are bringing back these original jerseys for select games for the 20th anniversary of the team joining the NBA.
It has a raptor on it. How can you not love it?...
One of the best NBA announcers has to be TNT’s Kevin Harlan and during tonight’s Spurs-Heat telecast, he decided to joke with Craig Sager about his suit choice.
Sager decided to go with a blueish/aquamarine number and Kevin decided to joke with partner Greg Anthony that Craig was the superhero, “Aquaman”:
Never Change Kevin Harlan, Never Change…
Harlan calls Sager...
Over the last couple of Miami Heat games, LeBron James has worn a mask to protect his broken nose but it finally appears that LeBron doesn’t want to be the NBA player in the mask.
Early in the first quarter during tonight’s Heat/Spurs affair, LeBron takes off his clear mask during a stoppage of play and has so far, LBJ decided to go the rest of the way without it.

Everyone loves a nice trip to the Zoo to check out the many different animals of the world. One such animal that is always a fan favorite is the flightless bird – the penguin.
New Orleans Pelicans players Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson visited the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans this week and got an up close and personnel meeting with a little penguin:

We all know Texas is a state with lots of cowboys, horses, and rodeos. These things are often not common in the places where many NBA players grew up.
Houston Rockets guard James Harden doesn’t seem like the type to jump on the back of a bucking bronco, but in the photo below Harden can be seen channeling his inner country spirit by wearing a cowboy hat for Rodeo Houston:
Former boxer Muhammad Ali is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, and still to this day people consider it a great honor to meet the boxer in person.
Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Kevin Durant posted an Instagram photo of him with the famous boxer. The photo features quite a star-studded combo, one of the greatest boxers of all time with one of the best basketball...
Last night, Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah collected his third triple-double of the season in a victory over the Detroit Pistons.
After the game, Joakim was walking down the tunnel to the visitors locker room when Hooper decided to make an appearance by flying into the scene using a bungee cord:
Nice play, Hooper, nice play…

Back in the 1990′s, the fine folks over at Electronics Arts teamed with Shaquille O’Neal to create a rather notable video game, “Shaq Fu”.
Flash-forward to today, Shaq is looking to crowd-funding websites to help create the second version of the game and here is some of the info from the Associated Press/ABC News:
Shaquille O’Neal says he’s seeking redemption for “Shaq...
Since the Boston Celtics/Golden State Warriors game was a blowout, the Celtics in-game arena team decided to have a little bit of fun with a Tupac Shakur impersonator in the crowd.
During a stoppage of play, they decided to play the hit song, “California Love” and check out when the fake Tupac decides to show some love:

We can say it many different ways and many times, but when it comes down to it the New York Knicks are bad and it seems to continue to get worse every day.
Earlier this week there was young child who couldn’t help but shake his head in disappointment. Tonight, another Knicks fan made a statement by showing her fandom by painting her pregnant belly in Knicks blue and orange:
The New York Knicks have been struggling lately and much of this can be blamed on their lack of defensive effort. Knicks center Tyson Chandler often finds himself as the only player who puts forth the needed effort on the defensive end.
Tonight, the Knicks are facing the Minnesota Timberwolves. Chandler knows when he sees defensive deficiencies, and when asked at halftime by sideline...
NBA players are very big people. Sometimes they find that living in a world that is not made for 7 foot 250 pound people has its disadvantages even if money is not one of them.
Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is one of the biggest players in the NBA. Where you or I would have no problem buying a bicycle, Jordan does so he had a custom one made at Bike Effect in Santa Monica...
Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has a very direct personality and has used that to become a successful NBA player and coach. Jackson is a licensed minister at the True Love Worship Center International in Van Nuys, California.
It must be because of his faith and strong convictions why Jackson has said that profanity is not acceptable near his Twitter account:
If you ever happen to live in a highly-populated area, then you’ve probably received at least one robocall asking you to vote for a political candidate or ballot measure.
Currently, San Antonio district attorney candidate Nicholas La Hood is looking to raise awareness for his campaign and decided to call on friend, Tim Duncan to help.
Below is the audio of the robocall collected...
Since yesterday was the start of Fat Tuesday of Mardi Gras, I figure that some of you out there decided to celebrate the holiday.
The New Orleans Pelicans were in Los Angeles to face the Lake-Show and it appears that Pau Gasol might have had a bit too much king cake.
Watch as Gasol throws down a nice dunk but ultimately falls onto the Staples Center floor after it:
As previously noted here on TNLP, we are big fans of Milwaukee Bucks rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo and the below story detailed by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix might be the best thing ever.
Apparently, Giannis went to send some money to his parents in Greece and well, I’ll let the story do the rest of the talking:
Favorite–of many–anecdotes from @G_ante34 reporting. Early...
As previously noted here on That NBA Lottery Pick, we featured a post where Lakers star Kobe Bryant showed off his Kobe Nike logo piano.
We have now learned that piano was part of a Nike ad campaign featuring Bryant creating the instrument in a Foot Locker commercial.

After a couple weeks of dismal basketball, it appears that New York Knicks fans have finally had enough failure.
A Facebook group called “KF4L Rally” is planning a Knicks fan protest that could happen on March 19th before the Knicks game against the Indiana Pacers.
For information on the protest, we turn to Marc Berman of the New York Post:

Currently, the Brooklyn Nets sit as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and appear to be on the fast track for the NBA playoffs.
At this point of the season, some analysts/pundits/fans believe that the Nets would be an easy team to face in the first round.
One member of the Nets doesn’t go along with that line of thinking as star guard Deron Williams says that Brooklyn can...
Nearing the end of tonight’s Rockets-Heat affair, James Harden made a very questionable late-game pass to Dwight Howard that gave Miami a chance to tie the game.
During Harden’s errant pass, it appears that Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard’s elbow ends hitting LeBron right in the nose and according to Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald, LeBron re-broke his nose due to the...
Houston Rockets guard James Harden has really come into his own this season demonstrating an elite scoring ability whether at the free throw strike or from downtown.
One area of his game that Harden has been criticized for is on the defensive end. Critics have cited ineptitude and blatant disinterest at times from Harden. Tonight while playing the Miami Heat, Harden gave the detractors...
