One of the best running memes in the NBA today is Miami Heat players yelling at point guard Mario Chalmers. (It inspired a Tumblr page)
During today’s trip to the White House, United States president Barack Obama decided to crack a joke about that fact during his speech before taking the picture with the championship team:
Don’t worry Mario, POTUS got your back!
Today, the Miami Heat visited the White House in Washington D.C. to meet with United States president Barack Obama about their championship win from 2013.
The Heat organization decided to present Mr. Obama with a facsimile Larry O’Brien trophy that was inscribed with players names in an all-black look.

President Obama opened his speech by telling...

As the NBA All-Star game nears in February, many players are campaigning for votes. Some of the player’s teams are helping in the campaign by creating videos that show why their best player should make the All-Star game.

In 2007, Gerald Green showed the NBA world in the dunk contest his fantastic ability to get up and throw down special dunks, but now in 2014, he never misses an opportunity to show off his hops during game action.
Tonight as the Phoenix Suns took on the New York Knicks, Green stole the ball to start a one man fastbreak and finished with a sweet dunk:

There are few people in today’s society that are taller that 7-foot Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat and one of those men is former Washington center Gheorghe Muresan. The former NBA big man stands at an astounding 7’7 and check out the below photo of the two that was posted to Marcin’s Instagram account: Man, Marcin looks super tiny! *** Gortat image courtesy of Getty Images
With J.R. Smith causing people to be concerned with NBA players untying opponent’s shoes, the latest work by Jack McCallum gives us an example that J.R. wasn’t the only man to do it.
Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird did as well.
Check out the below excerpt tracked down by Deadspin in McCallum’s new book about the 1990-91 Boston Celtics season called “Unfinished Business”...
Just when you thought that you had learned of every new meme, something called Lebroning has come to light.

With all of J.R. Smith’s crazy antics over the couple of weeks, it would make sense for a pastor to use it to teach a life lesson.

Unless you happened to be a close friend of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, I’m going to bet that you didn’t get an invite to D-Wade lavish 32rd birthday party.
Not only did D-Wade celebrate his party on a yacht called “Way of Wade” but he got a rather awesome birthday cake with his trademark shoes on them from Miami’s own Divine Delicacies:
