Fantasy Hockey Spin: Luongo Pumps Your Tires?

(Sometimes the fantasy hockey and hockey gods must be crazy! -- File Photo)   Oh god! We hit bizarro world! Yes, at least for now, Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo are playing for the Florida Panthers. Just think about this for a second. Luongo had some pretty good numbers for Vancouver but heads back to where he once was. Now it is at the sunset of his hockey career....

Pick The Winner: Golden Times!

We have reached the end of the Olympic hockey road. Canada will face Sweden in the morning. When I looked at odds and such, I was amazed at how much they changed from earlier in the day. Canada has jumped from a -170 to -200 in most circles. The over/under is still holding at 4 1/2. No one really expects a high scoring game at all. I mean no one! Some Bets and Prop Bets Let...

Pick The Winner: Olympic Predictions

Let's keep it simple for everyone. What we are going to do is simply try to pick the winner for tomorrow's quarterfinal games. The knockout phase in the Olympics will be something else as there might be one or more upsets. There was one earlier today as Latvia upended Switzerland 3-1. The Swiss were picked by a few to give Canada some trouble tomorrow. However, that was not meant...

Short Post: Olympic Fantasy Hockey Mailbag?

Simply we just want to ask the fans if an Olympic Fantasy Hockey Mailbag is in order? The goal is to throw some ideas out of Twitter and then hopefully the questions can be answered. Box pools are going to be quite the challenge and if injuries, do happen, we can maybe give people an idea of what will happen next. The men's hockey starts Wednesday and most pools have a late Tuesday...

Olympic Hockey Is Here!

It really is the most wonderful time of the year for hockey fans. Some will disagree but the reality is that the 2014 Winter Olympics gets going with Team USA going up against Finland at 3 am ET. Yes this is women's hockey but believe me, there are tons of compelling storylines. People forget that the men do not start until next Wednesday.  The fun part is that we will...

When The Hockey Writers Writes Too Much....

Hello everybody. It has been awhile...a far too long actually since I have posted anything on here and I humbly apologize. I have to be honest that I may have spread myself a little thin this year but we will get back to posting things on a more modified but manageable schedule. I am sorry for any inconvenience but just know that yes I am still alive and kicking here at...

World Junior Ice Hockey Championships off to a Flyer

What an opening day it was at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Malmö on Boxing Day as hot favourites USA and Canada won their opening games to stake an early claim for the coveted title. While defending champions USA produced a consistent performance to beat a weary Czech side 5-1, Brent Sutter’s team got off to the perfect start as Canada led the unfancied...

Merry Christmas Hockey World!

Greetings from The Program. The World Junior Championships start tomorrow in Malmo, Sweeden. There is a certain happiness in the air as my yearly diversion from the NHL starts. So before that happens, I wanted to wish everyone out there a Merry Christmas from me to you.  The fun part of Christmas is the children obviously but the most important thing is family and friends...
