Pac-12 Officials Reprimanded

Just as you thought, that maybe the Pac-12 was turning a corner, and the officiating was getting a little better, Saturday night happens. If you were watching the end of the Wisconsin verse Arizona State game, then you saw the horrific officiating that took place. For those of you who haven’t been living on planet earth, and missed the numerous replays of it all over TV, and the...

The Fan Experience: What Is Taking It Too Far?

For millions of people throughout the world, sports are more than just a game. Sports bring strangers together as one strong unified group with one goal in common, helping and watching their team win. For many teams, whether it is high school, college, or pro, the fan base pays a key role in their success. Take a look at the Seahawks; the 12th man has become the most feared fan base...

These Two GIFS are the only things that matter from last night’s Seahawks vs. 49ers game.

The Seattle Seahawks took care of business last night, beating the San Francisco 49ers 29-3 in front of a crowd that was literally the loudest in the history of the world.  No joke.  There were many great plays, but my recap for this one consists of only two GIFs.  Here you go:     [via Deadspin and KSK] The post These Two GIFS are the only things that matter from last night’s...

Brutal Fight at High School Game

Football and violence are as linked as Mark Sanchez and The Butt Fumble. Whether it’s fair or not, both tend to be a part of the same conversation. Football, a contact sport, inevitably brings major injury into play. But things get downright nasty when the helmet turns into a weapon… Take a look at this high school football game in Pennsylvania. Not sure if there is some bad...

NFL Picks and Betting Advice: Week Two

Well, I’m back!  I am pretty pleased with my week one picks after going 11-5.  I could have done better and, would have if Lavonte David hadn’t lightly tapped Geno Smith on the shoulder.  Regardless, 11-5 is pretty good for the first week of the season, but I intend to improve this week and actually hit on my parlay.  Let the picking and betting commence! 2013 Season Pick...

Tyson Jackson Goes Streaking

The career of Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End has already been disappointing, but it may have gotten worse on Sunday. After being selected 3rd overall out of LSU in 2009, Jackson has recorded just 5 sacks in four seasons. Going against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday, Jackson  was rushing the Quarterback when he was unexpectedly pantsed by Jags center Brad Meester. Can’t...

Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick have an interesting bet for SEA-SF game

Things are going to be very interesting this Sunday night when the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers.  Apparently not interesting enough for the teams’ quarterbacks, though. “You know what we should do?  Whoever loses has to shave an eyebrow.” -Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson That’s right.  According to a video posted on the EA Sports YouTube channel...

Arizona State Sun Devils to honor Yarnell Hill firefighters

Arizona State will wear a decal on the back of their helmet to honor the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill fire, in their game on September 14th, verse Wisconsin. This one hits home with me, because I was a wild land firefighter this summer, and actually got sent down to that fire right after that incident happened. It still gives me goosebumps looking back...

Jim Mora Walks Out Of Press Conference

UCLA just recently had a death to a team member, Nick Pasquale. Jim Mora had his usual Sunday press conference, and led off talking about Nick. A reporter decided to pick up his phone, and Mora was not having it. You can see the rest for yourself. May I add….this reporter is an idiot. Newspaper gives John Elway credit for Peyton Manning’s seven touchdown performance

This is pretty funny.  According to a image posted on twitter by Rhonda Dixon (@Dixon_RC), a headline in the Columbus Dispatch read “Elway throws seven touchdown passes”.  Obviously, it wasn’t John Elway, but rather Peyton Manning who threw those seven touchdown passes in last night’s 49-27 win over the Baltimore Ravens.  I must say though, I wouldn’t be too shocked...

Sport Science examines the famous Mark Sanchez “Butt Fumble”

The crew over at Sport Science is always bringing interesting new looks at the world of sports through their scientific approach (I guess that’s why they call it Sport Science).  Their latest video might be the best one yet, as it takes a look into everything that took place on one fateful play last Thanksgiving when the New York Jets played the New England Patiots and Mark Sanchez...

NFL Picks and Betting Advice: Week One

NFL football is back, ladies and gentlemen.  College football is great and provided us all with a nice fix this past week, but the real deal is finally back tomorrow and I couldn’t be happier.  My favorite thing about covering football is breaking down matchups and coming up with formulas to determine how I think a team will do against their opponent that week.  I’m also...

UCLA Raised The Bar High With New Gloves

The glove fad in the NCAA is an ever growing trend, and I don’t see it going any where. More and more teams are coming out with new jerseys, and along with the new jerseys, there are gloves to go with that. That is no different down in LA, where UCLA has a new alt. uniform, and of course, new gloves. Take a look.     The post UCLA Raised The Bar High With New Gloves appeared...

Clemson’s Stadium Entrance Is Pretty Sweet

ESPN gave us a unique perspective with a look into Clemson’s stadium entrance on Saturday night.  Starting from when they get onto the bus, and going all the way to when the player runs out onto the field. Georgia football fan calls radio show, breaks down crying

This is pretty hilarious.  After the fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs lost a classic game 38-35 in their season opener against the eighth-ranked Tigers of Clemson, one die hard UGA fan called a local radio station to vent.  He definitely did the venting part, but he took it even further when he started crying on the air about how Georgia needs to fire current head coach Mark Richt...

2013 NFL Uniform Rankings

As a fan of sports uniforms, I figured I would do the world a favor and rank the NFL jerseys for this coming season.  I thought about including each team’s throwbacks in the rankings, but that would throw everything off, so I am doing these rankings based solely on the 2013 uniforms of each team. This will also take form as a weekly power rankings column based on the jersey each...
