Mariners recall Endy Chavez from Triple-A

The Seattle Mariners have called up outfielder Endy Chavez from Triple-A Tacoma. Chavez will bat from the leadoff spot in Friday’s game against the Detroit Tigers. Now 36, he was hitting .272/.34/.289 in 37 games with Triple-A Tacoma. A season ago Chavez appeared in 97 games with the Mariners hitting .267 in 279 plate appearances.
