The road to Championship Tour qualification hits its second stop at the competitive-rich sands of Narrabeen and opening day threats emerged in powerful form. Kirra Pinkerton led the North American surge with the day’s only excellent posting as Levi Slawson and Owen Moss both notched impressive wins. A heavy-footed Axel Curotta wave the Australian flag high into the top-seeded round alongside former CT veteran Nikki Van Dijk. But, a rising cast of Challenger Series powerhouses are on their heels with Ariane Ochao, Hiroto Ohhara, Luel Felipe, Tessa Thyssen, Sierra Kerr, and plenty more looking ready to seize the GWM Sydney Pro presented by Bonsoy crown. Now, they are set to take on proven Challenger Series and former CT elite for a chance at adding their names in Narrabeen history. The Challenger Series’ second stop is Narrabeen, one of Sydney’s premier breaks and one of the proudest surf communities on the continent. Renowned for producing long, reeling lefts as well as notable Championship Tour competitors, the wave will test relegated CT surfers and up-and-coming talents alike as they battle to make the tour.
