Steven Stamkos can end Sidney Crosby’s reign on top

For about a thousand good reasons, Sidney Crosby is considered the best player in the world. It probably has a thing or two to do with the fact that he’s the defending MVP and scoring champion, winning the latter by a mile and a half last year as the only player to hit the 100-point […] The post Steven Stamkos can end Sidney Crosby’s reign on top appeared first on Two Pad Stack.

VIDEO: Ondrej Palat talks about the Lightning's growing expectations

As the 2014-15 season approaches, expectations are rapidly growing for both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Calder Trophy runner-up Ondrej Palat. Disappointed by a first-round exit in last year's Stanley Cup playoffs, the Lightning were extremely active during the offseason in both free agency and the trade market. Notable offseason additions to the roster included defensemen Jason...

Video: Steven Stamkos does the field goal challenge

Watch Steven Stamkos shoot pucks through the uprights. As cool as it is seeing Stamkos split the posts from some serious deep yardage, the star of the show is the fact this video brings back the idea of the glowing puck. Feel free to debate the legitimacy of this video, but it’s still cool seeing Stamkos put a puck through from 91 yards.

Steven Stamkos Shoots Puck Through Field Goal Posts To Promote New Stick

To promote their new MX3 hockey stick, Bauer had their premier athlete Steven Stamkos shoot pucks through the uprights on a football field. Yes, you read that right. It’s no coincidence that #91 made a 91-yard Field Goal as his last shot either. Pretty impressive display by Stamkos. It's good: Steven Stamkos takes his slapshot to the football field

Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos is known for his stick-handling. After all, he has led the NHL in goals twice in his six-year career (60 in 2011-12 and tied with Sidney Crosby with 51 in 2009-10). But how would the nearly healthy Stamkos -- who is is second among active players with 233 goals since the start of the 2008-09 season -- fare if his shot was transported to another...

He scores from 91 yards.  NINETY-ONE YARDS!  It reminded me instantly of ‘Happy Gilmore’, the 1996 movie that saw...

Pavel Kubina On The Tampa Bay Lightning

from Katie Strang of ESPN, The Lightning should have a healthy Steven Stamkos and goaltender Ben Bishop, something that was not the case in the 2013-14 Stanley Cup playoffs. Add some splashy offseason acquisitions -- defensemen Anton Stralman and Jason Garrison, and forward Brian Boyle -- and highly touted prospect Jonathan Drouin, and this could be the sleeper team of the...
